An ASI BAC controller display is what a tuned bike has been missing. A BAC8000 kit turns a Light Bee into a different machine, but the stock speedometer on the bars still shows the same three numbers it showed before, and the only thing you can change while riding is an assist level.

Dash Pro replaces both of them. It is an ASI BAC controller display: a colour touchscreen that plugs into your motor controller, reads what it is doing, and then tells it what to do next. As a result, the output you paid for finally becomes something you can shape, cap, and hand out to whoever else rides the bike.

On an ASI BAC controller display, nothing is greyed out

Dash Pro fits ten controller families. On some of them, however, it reads and limits but leaves the controller’s own configuration alone. ASI is not one of those.

On a BAC355, BAC555, BAC855, BAC2000, BAC4000 or BAC8000, every capability in the product is available, including the ones that write settings back to the controller. Because Dash Pro identifies which BAC you have from the controller’s own rating, a setting can never ask for more than your hardware is built to give.

In other words, if you are shopping for an ASI BAC controller display, this is the one that writes as well as reads.

What an ASI BAC controller display can change

Writing settings back to the controller is the part most displays cannot do at all. An ASI BAC controller display can, however, and Dash Pro does it from the bars or from the app.

What you actually get depends on the bike the ASI went into. The list above is the full ASI range, not a promise for every build. Because an ASI BAC controller display only ever shows settings your bike genuinely supports, a Light Bee on a BAC8000 does not expose the same set as a BBSHD conversion or an INOKIM.

Anything your loom does not wire, such as a brake lever with no variable output, no light circuit or no reverse, simply will not appear. So tell us which kit you are running and we will tell you what you get.

Running something else? The same display fits stock Sur-Ron and Talaria machines whose controllers cannot be reprogrammed at all, plus TORP, Bafang, SiliXcon, FarDriver, Riding Times, E-TMX and VESC. On those families Dash Pro shows everything the controller reports and holds your limits itself, without touching the controller’s stored configuration.

Two bikes on one machine

The reason a fast bike gets boring is that the fast setting is the only setting. Dash Pro gives the bike a ceiling you can raise and drop from the handlebar, in the time it takes to press a button, with no phone and no stopping.

Trail mode is intended for closed roads, private land and off road use. The speed limits that apply to your bike and your licence class vary by country, and riding within them is the rider’s responsibility.

Ten riding maps, for a controller that can finally use them

One power figure is not a tune. Dash Pro holds up to ten riding maps, and each one carries its own speed ceiling, power ceiling, current limit and regen strength.

So build a wet map, a trail map, a map for the person who borrows the bike, and a map that lets the controller do everything it is capable of. Then switch between them from the bars. Afterwards you can save a tune to your account, restore it after a rebuild, or send it to a friend running the same setup.

Drag the response curve until the first quarter of travel behaves the way you want it to. Soft off the line, savage at the top, or the other way round.

Which harness do I need?

Two choices above the buy button. Pick the bike or controller first, then the harness that matches the plug already on your loom. Nothing is cut and nothing is spliced.

The 5-pin Higo options cover Sur-Ron and Talaria bikes converted with an ASI controller, which is what nearly every BAC8000 upgrade kit for Sur-Ron and BAC4000 upgrade kit on this site ends up as. The same two also cover the BAC8000 kit for Talaria Sting.

Therefore pick female or male to match the plug your kit left you with. BAC855 for Bafang covers the BBSHD conversion. On an ASI powered scooter such as the INOKIM OXO, however, send us a photo of the display plug and we will tell you which of the four to take.

Assists that keep the extra power usable

A BAC kit does not make a bike easier to ride. These do. They sit between your controls and the motor, which is the only place they can work from.

Wheelie control

Holds the front where you put it and catches the bike with the brake if it goes past the angle you set.

Drag anti-flip

For launches. Cuts the power that would otherwise put you on your back at the start of the run.

Traction control

Trims power the moment the rear breaks away on wet roots or gravel.

Music, calls and a channel to ride on

The jobs you used to stop and dig a phone out for. Track, artist and album art appear on the display from whatever app you already use, with play, pause, skip and volume on the three handlebar buttons, so neither hand leaves the grip.

An incoming call fills the screen and is answered or declined with a press. Meanwhile you can ride with other people on a six character room code and push to talk from the bars, with no intercom to buy and no subscription. Finally, two switches decide whether music appears on the display at all, and whether it appears while the bike is moving.

One bike, several riders

Add someone by email or by showing them a QR code. Then decide what that rider gets: a top speed, a power ceiling, which riding maps they may use, and whether they are allowed to lift a limit at all.

Because the ceiling is stored on the bike rather than in their phone, uninstalling the app does not hand it back. In other words, it is the difference between a bike a fourteen year old cannot ride and a bike that grows with them.

Questions before you order

I bought a BAC8000 kit here. Which options do I pick?

Choose ASI as the bike or controller, then the harness that matches the plug on your loom: For SurRon Higo 5-pin female or For SurRon Higo 5-pin male. That is all an ASI BAC controller display needs to talk to your kit. If you are not sure which one you have, send us a photo of the plug and we will tell you.

Does it work on a stock Sur-Ron Light Bee X?

Yes. The stock Light Bee controller cannot be reprogrammed, so Dash Pro does not try. It holds your speed and power ceiling in real time instead, and lifting the ceiling returns full stock performance immediately.

Does it fit a Talaria Sting?

Yes, on MX3, MX4, MX5 and X3, plus the first generation MX3 TL3000 with its own harness. The models are told apart automatically and each gets the riding modes it has.

Do I have to modify the bike?

No. No cable is cut, no part is removed, no controller is reflashed. The display clamps to the bars and two leads plug in. Remove it and the bike behaves exactly as it did before.

Can I cap the bike at 25 km/h?

You can cap it at 25 km/h, 45 km/h or any figure you choose, with a matching power cap. Whether that figure makes your bike usable on a public road depends on your country and your bike’s class, which is yours to check.

Can my child remove the limits I set?

No. Rider ceilings are held on the bike itself, not in the rider’s phone, and only an owner account can change them.

Does it need a phone to work?

No. The phone is for setup, tuning and ride history. Once the bike is set up, the ASI BAC controller display works on its own, and the three handlebar buttons cover what you need while riding.

Does it replace the stock speedometer?

It takes over as your speedometer and your dashboard, showing ride data the stock unit was never able to report. Nothing is cut to fit it, so the bike goes back to standard in minutes. The rest of our displays and speedometers are here.
